This market will resolve to the player who wins the 2026 Edgar Martinez Outstanding Designated Hitter award for the 2026 MLB Season. In the event of a tie, this market will resolve according to the official winner as determined by MLB rules. If multiple winners are announced then this market will resolve to the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. If the 2026 MLB season is cancelled, postponed after December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no winner declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Major League Baseball; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The Edgar Martinez Outstanding Designated Hitter Award remains tightly contested early in the 2026 season, with Kyle Schwarber, Yordan Alvarez, and Shohei Ohtani separated by just over two percentage points in implied probability. Schwarber’s consistent power production and durability as the Phillies’ primary DH have kept him narrowly ahead, while Alvarez’s elite exit velocity and on-base skills for the Astros sustain his strong positioning despite past injury concerns. Ohtani continues to post high on-base percentages and extra-base hits for the Dodgers even as he balances designated hitter duties with pitching, though his early-season output has not yet matched his historic peaks. The field below remains fragmented, with no other candidate exceeding single-digit odds amid a crowded group of productive bats like Salvador Perez and Eugenio Suarez. This bunched leaderboard reflects the wisdom of crowds pricing in multiple viable paths to the award depending on health, plate appearances, and late-season surges.
